Via dell’Oro, nel centro storico del paese, è una strada che conserva il ritmo antico delle cose vere. È qui che nel 2020 nasce il progetto di ospitalità contemporanea Goldengel Suites: sette suite pensate per chi cerca bellezza senza ostentazione, privacy senza isolamento, lusso senza rumore.
Tra cortili nascosti, scorci alpini e filari che si perdono all’orizzonte, Goldengel Suites è un rifugio urbano che parla la lingua del territorio.
Dietro questo progetto ci sono Stefan Eisenstecken e sua moglie Katrin, caldaresi da generazioni, legati alla loro terra in modo profondo e non retorico.
Non provengono dal turismo, ma da un percorso diverso, che li ha portati a riscoprire l’ospitalità come scelta di vita. Prima un piccolo B&B, poi il sogno: recuperare un’antica casa dei primi del ’900 e trasformarla in qualcosa che avesse un’anima.
Oggi Goldengel è una costellazione di sette suite: cinque dal design contemporaneo e due che conservano un’impronta più tradizionale. Tre portano nomi simbolici – Fortuna, Sogno, Cuore – le altre quattro sono dedicate alle donne della famiglia che un tempo abitava il palazzo.
Il progetto architettonico è firmato dallo studio Abraham Bonora, con Thomas Abraham e Claudia Unterhauser. Il loro stile è un dialogo tra mondi: suggestioni marocchine, tocchi spagnoli, eleganza britannica, il tutto filtrato attraverso l’anima alpina dell’Alto Adige.
Piastrelle artigianali, arredi di design selezionati con cura, palette naturali: qui nulla è lasciato al caso, ma tutto è pensato per far sentire chi arriva immediatamente a casa.
In alcune suite compaiono anche le opere dell’artista altoatesino Martin Pohl: pittura astratta, gesti decisi, materia e silenzio. Non decorazione, ma presenza. Come se l’arte fosse un altro modo di respirare.
Goldengel Suites è una porta aperta sulla Strada del Vino.
Da qui si parte per scoprire cantine storiche, piccoli produttori, ristoranti che raccontano il territorio con semplicità e profondità. Il Museo Provinciale del Vino, le passeggiate tra i filari, le degustazioni guidate: ogni esperienza ha il sapore del tempo ritrovato.
Il Lago di Caldaro, la Funicolare della Mendola, la Gola di Rastenbach: natura, luce e silenzio diventano compagni di viaggio.
Per chi desidera qualcosa di ancora più esclusivo, è possibile prenotare una gita privata in barca sul Lago di Garda, con skipper.
Al piano terra, tra i due edifici, si apre un cortile elegante e discreto. Qui vive il Bar Perlage, cuore conviviale di Goldengel e punto d’incontro per la comunità locale.
Cocktail d’autore, spumanti, vini altoatesini, piccoli piatti ispirati al territorio: il bar è un luogo che unisce, dove gli ospiti si mescolano agli abitanti, e la sera prende forma in musica e luce soffusa.
È aperto da marzo fino a Natale, dal martedì al sabato. E spesso diventa il ricordo più vivo del soggiorno.

Via dell’Oro, in the historic centre of the village, is a street that preserves the ancient rhythm of authentic things. It is here that, in 2020, the contemporary hospitality project Goldengel Suites was born: seven suites designed for those who seek beauty without ostentation, privacy without isolation, luxury without noise.
Among hidden courtyards, Alpine views and rows of vines fading into the horizon, Goldengel Suites is an urban retreat that speaks the language of the land.
Behind this project are Stefan Eisenstecken and his wife Katrin, Caldarans for generations, deeply and sincerely connected to their homeland.
They did not come from the tourism world, but from a different path that led them to rediscover hospitality as a life choice. First a small B&B, then the dream: restoring an early 20th-century house and transforming it into something with a soul.
Today Goldengel is a constellation of seven suites: five with a contemporary design and two that retain a more traditional character. Three bear symbolic names – Fortune, Dream, Heart – while the other four are dedicated to the women of the family who once lived in the building.
The architectural project is signed by the Abraham Bonora studio, with Thomas Abraham and Claudia Unterhauser. Their style is a dialogue between worlds: Moroccan inspirations, Spanish touches, British elegance, all filtered through the Alpine soul of South Tyrol.
Handcrafted tiles, carefully selected designer furniture, natural colour palettes: nothing is left to chance, everything is conceived to make guests feel instantly at home.
In some suites you will also find the works of South Tyrolean artist Martin Pohl: abstract painting, bold gestures, matter and silence. Not decoration, but presence. As if art were another way of breathing.
Goldengel Suites is an open door onto the South Tyrol Wine Road.
From here you can discover historic wineries, small producers, restaurants that tell the story of the land with simplicity and depth. The Provincial Wine Museum, walks through the vineyards, guided tastings: every experience tastes of time regained.
Lake Caldaro, the Mendola Funicular, the Rastenbach Gorge: nature, light and silence become travel companions.
For those who desire something even more exclusive, a private boat trip on Lake Garda with skipper can be booked.
On the ground floor, between the two buildings, an elegant and discreet courtyard opens up. This is where Bar Perlage lives – the convivial heart of Goldengel and a meeting place for the local community.
Signature cocktails, sparkling wines, South Tyrolean labels, small dishes inspired by the territory: the bar is a place that brings people together, where guests mingle with locals and evenings take shape in music and soft light.
It is open from March until Christmas, from Tuesday to Saturday. And it often becomes the most vivid memory of the stay.
Goldengel Suites is not just a place to sleep: it is a pause from the world, in the heart of Caldaro.
