Un filo invisibile ma resistentissimo collega l’Appennino emiliano, i campionamenti digitali e le distese sconfinate della Mongolia. Questa linea ideale si concretizza oggi in una delle collaborazioni musicali più affascinanti e inaspettate dell’anno: i C.S.I. – Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti hanno scelto Lostatobrado per riarrangiare i propri brani storici, accompagnarli sul palco nelle imminenti date asiatiche di Ulan Bator e Pechino, e aprire i concerti del loro prossimo tour estivo.
Per i C.S.I. il ritorno in Mongolia – dove si esibiranno il 4 luglio sul palco del Playtime Festival a Ulan Bator, prima di spostarsi il 6 luglio all'Auditorium dell’Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Pechino – rappresenta un cerchio che si chiude. Proprio quel paesaggio, reale e simbolico, aveva ispirato nel 1997 la genesi di Tabula Rasa Elettrificata, pietra miliare e opera tra le più influenti del rock italiano. Per Lostatobrado collettivo emiliano nato appena tre anni fa, questa avventura segna invece il culmine di un percorso folgorante, benedetto da Massimo Zamboni e Giovanni Lindo Ferretti.
Tutto comincia a gennaio 2026 al Locomotiv Club di Bologna, durante il release party di Ahimè, il secondo lavoro in studio della band emiliana. Massimo Zamboni rimane folgorato dal loro impatto sonoro, tanto da definirli su Rolling Stone Italia come il gruppo migliore che gli sia capitato di ascoltare negli ultimi anni. Da quel momento nasce la proposta di affidare a Lostatobrado le canzoni di CCCP e C.S.I. per rivestirle di abiti nuovi.
Ottenuto il via libera anche da Ferretti dopo l'ascolto del primo brano riarrangiato, il trio si richiude in studio da gennaio ad aprile. Muovendosi tra sintesi elettronica, campionamenti arditi e sonorità post-agricole, i tre musicisti proiettano i classici del consorzio direttamente verso la steppa mongola. Dopo intense sessioni di prove tra Reggio Emilia e il crinale appenninico, il progetto è pronto a debuttare dal vivo. Al rientro dall'Asia, il sodalizio continuerà in Italia: Lostatobrado aprirà infatti tutte le date del tour estivo dei C.S.I. a partire dal 29 agosto, in occasione del Festival Lupo di Montesole a Bologna, con l'unica eccezione del primo dei due live a Marzabotto.
Il modo in cui questo power-trio si inserisce in un’eredità così pesante si spiega attraverso una biografia e un'identità sonora rigorose e personalissime. Nato nel 2023, il collettivo unisce le voci, le idee e le parole di tre sound designer e compositori per il cinema: Alessio Vanni, Lorenzo Valdesalici e Lorenzo Marra.
La loro proposta si autodefinisce "musica elettroacustica post-agricola", un'etichetta-non etichetta che descrive un sound originale e figlio del suo tempo. Radicati nella tradizione della propria terra ma proiettati verso la sperimentazione, Lostatobrado fondono l'elettronica e la ricerca con la forma canzone e una fortissima sensibilità cinematografica. La loro musica è fatta per immagini e si ispira trasversalmente alle colonne sonore di maestri come Ennio Morricone, unendole al cantautorato italiano di C.S.I., Verdena o Iosonouncane, e a sonorità internazionali vicine ad artisti come Björk e Thom Yorke.
Il loro cammino viene scandito da riconoscimenti immediati fin dagli esordi. Nel 2024 l'album di debutto Canzoni contro la ragione attira le lodi della critica specializzata, tanto che la rivista Rumore lo elegge disco del mese di luglio, seguito dalle ottime recensioni di Blow Up e Rockit. Nello stesso anno, il legame profondo con il cinema li porta a collaborare con diverse associazioni come Nuvo, Shado, Braquage e Tristefilm festival per la realizzazione di sonorizzazioni live, tra cui spicca uno spettacolo dedicato a George Méliès al Festival della Lentezza di Parma. Sempre nel 2024 arrivano il Premio Speciale Rockit al concorso "Musica da Bere", la vittoria del concorso "Blender" organizzato dal Locomotiv di Bologna – che garantisce loro il supporto produttivo di Emilia Romagna Music Commission e Locomotiv Records – e infine il Premio "MITA" allo storico Rockcontest di Firenze.
La consacrazione definitiva si consolida a dicembre 2025 con la pubblicazione di Ahimè per Locomotiv Records, con il supporto di Ramaglie, un collettivo di autoproduzione che unisce numerose professionalità artistiche. Anticipato dall'uscita dei singoli Cusna e Tane, l'album si sviluppa come un'opera sperimentale e intensa, instabile e drammatica, costruita su strutture circolari in otto tracce.
Ahimè racconta la realtà con la sua stessa voce attraverso uno sguardo lucido, disincantato e a tratti tragicomico. Il disco disegna un paesaggio sonoro stratificato ed evocativo, arricchito da campionamenti inediti che catturano i rumori del mondo circostante per trasformarli in tessuto musicale. All'interno dei brani convivono stormi di oche, clacson urbani e richiami da cacciatore, capaci di dialogare con il contrasto acustico tra un'ocarina e un organo mesotonico del 1551.
Con questa densità concettuale, Lostatobrado si presenta oggi al pubblico come un canto corale, un'entità che racchiude i suoni del mondo e il silenzio assoluto. Dal cuore della via Emilia fino ai cieli della Mongolia, il collettivo è pronto a dimostrare di essere l'anello di congiunzione ideale per rigenerare il fuoco sacro dei C.S.I.

From Via Emilia to the Mongolian Steppe: The "Post-Agricultural" Journey of Lostatobrado Alongside C.S.I.
An invisible yet incredibly resilient thread connects the Emilian Apennines, digital sampling, and the boundless expanses of Mongolia. This ideal line takes concrete form today in one of the most fascinating and unexpected musical collaborations of the year: C.S.I. – Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti have chosen Lostatobrado to rearrange their historic tracks, join them on stage for their upcoming Asian dates in Ulaanbaatar and Beijing, and open the concerts of their next summer tour.
For C.S.I., returning to Mongolia—where they will perform on July 4th at the Playtime Festival in Ulaanbaatar, before moving on July 6th to the Auditorium of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing—represents a full circle. That very landscape, both real and symbolic, inspired the genesis of Tabula Rasa Elettrificata in 1997, a milestone and one of the most influential works in Italian rock history. For Lostatobrado, an Emilian collective born just three years ago, this adventure marks the culmination of a breathtaking journey, blessed by Massimo Zamboni and Giovanni Lindo Ferretti.
Zamboni's Blessing and the Project's Genesis
It all began in January 2026 at the Locomotiv Club in Bologna, during the release party for Ahimè, the Emilian band's second studio album. Massimo Zamboni was struck by their sonic impact, going so far as to define them on Rolling Stone Italia as the best group he had happened to listen to in recent years. From that moment, the proposal was born to entrust Lostatobrado
with the songs of CCCP and C.S.I., dressing them in entirely new clothes.
Having received the green light from Ferretti as well after he listened to the first rearranged track, the trio locked themselves in the studio from January to April. Moving between electronic synthesis, daring sampling, and post-agricultural textures, the three musicians projected the collective's classics straight toward the Mongolian steppe. After intense rehearsal sessions between Reggio Emilia and the Apennine ridge, the project is ready to debut live. Upon returning from Asia, the partnership will continue in Italy: Lostatobrado will open all dates of C.S.I.'s summer tour starting August 29th at the Festival Lupo in Montesole, Bologna, with the sole exception of the first of two live shows in Marzabotto.
Who is LOSTATOBRADO: The "Post-Agricultural" Electroacoustic Aesthetics
The way this power-trio fits into such a heavy legacy is explained through a rigorous and highly personal biography and sonic identity. Founded in 2023, the collective unites the voices, ideas, and words of three sound designers and film composers: Alessio Vanni, Lorenzo Valdesalici, and Lorenzo Marra.
Their work self-defines as "post-agricultural electroacoustic music"—a non-label label describing an original sound that is a true child of its time. Rooted in the traditions of their homeland but projected toward experimentation, Lostatobrado blend electronics and research with the song form and a powerful cinematic sensitivity. Their music is made for images, drawing loose inspiration from the soundtracks of masters like Ennio Morricone, merging them with Italian songwriting traditions (C.S.I., Verdena, Iosonouncane) and international sonic textures close to artists like Björk and Thom Yorke.
Their path has been marked by immediate recognition since their debut. In 2024, their first album Canzoni contro la ragione drew praise from the specialized press, with Rumore magazine naming it album of the month for July, followed by excellent reviews from Blow Up and Rockit. In the same year, their deep connection with cinema led them to collaborate with various film associations (Nuvo, Shado, Braquage, Tristefilm festival) for live soundtracks, including a performance dedicated to Georges Méliès at the Festival della Lentezza in Parma. Also in 2024, they received the Special Rockit Award at the "Musica da Bere" competition, won the "Blender" contest organized by Locomotiv Bologna—which guaranteed them production support from the Emilia Romagna Music Commission and Locomotiv Records—and finally received the "MITA" Award at the historic Rockcontest in Florence.
"Ahimè": A Snapshot of a World in Disarray
Their definitive consecration consolidated in December 2025 with the release of Ahimè under Locomotiv Records, supported by Ramaglie, a self-production collective gathering numerous artistic professionals. Anticipated by the release of the singles Cusna and Tane, the album unfolds as an intense, experimental, unstable, and dramatic work, built upon circular structures across eight tracks.
Ahimè narrates reality using its own voice through a lucid, disenchanted, and at times tragicomic lens. The record designs a layered and evocative soundscape, enriched by unprecedented sampling that captures the noises of the surrounding world to transform them into musical fabric. Within the tracks, flocks of geese, urban car horns, and hunters' calls coexist, successfully structuring a dialogue with the acoustic contrast between an ocarina and a mesotonic organ from 1551.
With this conceptual density, Lostatobrado presents itself to the public today as a choral chant, an entity enclosing both the sounds of the world and absolute silence. From the heart of the Via Emilia to the skies of Mongolia, the collective is ready to prove itself as the ideal link to regenerate the sacred fire of C.S.I.
